2 Days 1 Night – Lake Nakuru National Park Safari

Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park is one of Kenya’s most visited parks, known for its diverse wildlife and beautiful surroundings. The park features open savannahs, woodlands, and a soda lake that attracts various bird species, including pelicans and flamingos. Wildlife sightings may include buffaloes, giraffes, rhinos, and the rare tree-climbing lions. Its location makes it convenient to access from either Nairobi or Eldoret, offering a central starting point for visitors coming from different parts of the country. Whether you’re traveling for the first time or returning for another visit, Lake Nakuru provides a calm and rewarding safari.

Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park

Its not surprising that some of the aerial scenes from out of Africa were shot here in Lake Nakuru National Park, with its fabulous  views of the escarpment, lake and acacia forest. What also makes Lake Nakuru a special place to visit is its populations of black and white rhinos, tree climbing lions and endangered Rothschild’s giraffes. You might also see leopards, flamingos and many different kinds of birds too.

Going on an evening game drive is one of the highlights of any safari. This is when temperatures cool, the light becomes softer and the wildlife begins to get active.

Lake Nakuru Lodge is a special place to stay, occupying as it does a corner of the park away from all the other lodges. It also offers sweeping views over the park, and you’ll often see the park’s wildlife right outside the lodge’s low fence. Facilities include a swimming pool, restaurant and a spa, and you’ll enjoy the rooms too, they’re large, filled with war, colors and some have views.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru National Park – Nairobi

After an early morning game drive to catch a final glimpse of the park’s wildlife at their most active, return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast. Take some time to relax and enjoy a refreshing swim at the hotel as you reflect on the incredible wildlife experiences you’ve had so far.

As you check out, you’ll have another enroute game drive as you exit Lake Nakuru National Park—one last chance to spot any animals you may have missed. As you leave the park, soak in the majestic views one final time, cherishing the memories of your safari. Your journey then continues back to Nairobi.
