This four-day safari offers a thoughtful balance between cultural insight and natural wonder. Beginning in Rwanda’s capital, Kigali, the journey moves through sites of historical importance before leading you across the border into Uganda’s lush, forested highlands. Deep within Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, you’ll have the rare chance to observe mountain gorillas in their natural surroundings. Along the way, time is taken to rest, connect with local communities, and enjoy the scenic transitions between destinations.
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali – Welcome and Transfer to Hotel
Your journey begins with your arrival at Kigali International Airport. Upon landing, you are welcomed by airport staff and assisted through immigration and customs procedures through VIP service. Outside the terminal, a driver is ready to provide a short transfer into the city.
Your hotel in Kigali is centrally located and well-suited for relaxation after your travels. Once checked in, you are free to settle in and unwind. Dinner is served at the hotel’s restaurant, offering you the chance to enjoy a quiet meal before the next day’s activities.

Day 2: Kigali Genocide Memorial – Travel to Bwindi
The day begins with breakfast at the hotel. Later in the morning, you’ll meet your guide and visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. The visit offers a sobering and educational account of Rwanda’s history, while also highlighting the country’s journey toward healing and renewal. After the visit, you depart Kigali and begin your overland journey to southern Uganda. The drive follows a scenic route through Rwanda’s rolling hills and rural landscapes. Along the way, you stop for lunch before continuing toward the Uganda border. Once border formalities are completed, you continue into Uganda’s highlands. You arrive at Chameleon Hill Lodge in the early evening, where check-in is followed by dinner and time to rest.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking – Batwa Cultural Visit
An early breakfast is followed by a transfer to the park headquarters, where you join other visitors for a short briefing on gorilla trekking procedures. Trained rangers explain the guidelines for the trek and share background information about the gorilla families. You are then guided into the forest, where the trek may last anywhere from one to several hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Once the group is found, there is time to observe them quietly and watch as they move, eat, and interact in their natural habitat.
After returning to the lodge, you have a chance to rest and enjoy refreshments. In the late afternoon, a visit to a nearby Batwa community is arranged. The Batwa people are among the original inhabitants of the forest, and the visit offers an opportunity to learn about their traditions, stories, and relationship with the land.
Dinner is served back at the lodge, with the evening left open for relaxation.

Day 4: Return to Kigali – Departure
The final morning begins with breakfast and check-out from the lodge. The drive back to Kigali gives you time to enjoy the views one last time, passing through forested hills, villages, and farmland along the way.
On arrival in Kigali, a stop is made for lunch at a local restaurant. After the meal, your driver will take you to Kigali International Airport in time for your flight. Flight details are coordinated based on your departure time.

Cancellation Policy:
Given that bookings involve accommodations and services arranged in advance, the following cancellation charges apply:
- Cancellations made 15–30 days before arrival will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made 7–14 days before arrival will incur a 75% cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made less than 7 days before arrival or in the event of a no-show will not be eligible for a refund.
You have the option to reschedule your safari at no extra cost. However, any price adjustments resulting from revised hotel rates will be your responsibility.
