This short getaway blends history, adventure, and coastal relaxation. It includes a Prison Island boat trip, Nakupenda sandbank picnic, a full day at Nungwi Beach, and a sunset dhow cruise. The tour is private — just your group with a dedicated driver/guide. If you wish to add more experiences or a mainland safari, we’ll gladly tailor the package to suit your needs.
Day 1: Welcome to Zanzibar – Arrival in Stone Town
Upon arrival at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted by our driver-guide who will escort you to your hotel in the heart of Stone Town. As your safari begins, take a moment to soak in the vibrant atmosphere of this island capital, known for its Swahili-Arab architecture, narrow alleys, and rich cultural history.
Depending on your arrival time, you can choose to unwind at the hotel or explore the area with optional evening walks around Forodhani Gardens or along the coast. Your guide will be available to offer insights or help arrange spontaneous local experiences.

Day 2: Prison Island Excursion & Nakupenda Sandbank Picnic
After breakfast, embark on a full-day island escape starting with a private boat trip to Prison Island. Located about 20 minutes from Stone Town, this historic islet was once used to quarantine people during the colonial era. Today, it’s home to a sanctuary of giant Aldabra tortoises, some of which are over 150 years old. You’ll have time to interact with the tortoises and explore the ruins before continuing to your next destination.
From here, sail toward the magical Nakupenda Sandbank, a stunning stretch of white sand that disappears with the tide. The turquoise waters here are ideal for snorkeling, sunbathing, and swimming in clear, shallow seas. A fresh seafood lunch will be served on the beach as you enjoy the rhythmic sounds of the Indian Ocean.
Return to Stone Town in the late afternoon for some rest or optional evening shopping at the spice market.

Day 3: Nungwi Beach Adventure & Sunset Dhow Cruise
After breakfast and checkout, your driver will take you north through the island to the famous Nungwi Beach, known for its soft sands, warm ocean currents, and lively beach atmosphere. Settle into your beachfront resort and enjoy the day at your own pace — whether that means relaxing under a palm tree, swimming in the ocean, or engaging in optional activities like visiting a turtle conservation sanctuary, reef snorkeling, or a traditional village walk.
As the afternoon comes to a close, prepare for a truly magical moment with a private sunset dhow cruise. Sail into the horizon aboard a traditional Swahili sailing boat while sipping on fresh juices or cocktails. The golden hues of the setting sun reflecting on the water create the perfect romantic or reflective close to your day.

Day 4: Departure
Enjoy a relaxing morning at the beach, taking in the last views of Zanzibar’s tropical beauty. Depending on your flight time, you may have a chance to take a final dip in the ocean, indulge in a spa treatment, or enjoy a local Swahili breakfast delicacy before your transfer back to the airport.
