7 Days Uganda Safari: Kibale, Queen Elizabeth & Gorilla Trekking

This 7-day journey through western Uganda provides a well-balanced exploration of some of the country’s most remarkable national parks and wildlife experiences. The itinerary includes a visit to Kibale Forest National Park, known for its high concentration of chimpanzees, followed by wildlife viewing and a boat safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The journey ends in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. This safari is ideal for travelers looking to explore Uganda’s rich biodiversity and varied landscapes at a comfortable pace while enjoying high-quality lodge accommodations and thoughtful service throughout.

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda – Transfer to Entebbe

Upon landing at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our VIP airport assistant who will help you through immigration and baggage claim. A company representative will greet you at the arrivals area and accompany you to your hotel in Entebbe. After check-in, you can spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Dinner will be served at the hotel restaurant.

Day 2: Travel to Kibale – Ndali Kasenda Crater Lakes

After breakfast, depart Entebbe by road towards western Uganda. The drive will take you past tea plantations, small villages, and scenic hills, gradually approaching the Fort Portal area. Arrive at Ndali Lodge, a peaceful retreat overlooking the crater lakes. After lunch at the lodge, take a guided walk around the Ndali Kasenda Crater Lakes, offering views of volcanic formations, farmland, and forest. This is a quiet, nature-rich area ideal for photography and birdwatching. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale – Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

The day begins with breakfast followed by a transfer to Kibale Forest National Park headquarters for a morning chimpanzee trekking briefing. Led by park guides and trackers, walk into the tropical forest in search of one of Uganda’s most habituated chimpanzee communities. Once located, you will have an hour to observe their behavior up close. Return to the lodge for lunch and check out. Continue by road to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in the late afternoon. The evening is at leisure followed by dinner.

Day 4: Game Drive and Boat Safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park

Following breakfast, head out for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains, a wildlife-rich area known for its lion sightings, large herds of Uganda kob, elephants, and other savannah species. After the drive, return to the lodge for refreshments and lunch. In the afternoon, take a 3-hour boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, which links Lake George and Lake Edward. The cruise provides good views of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, and various bird species that thrive near the water’s edge. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner.

Day 5: Travel to Bwindi via Ishasha – Tree-Climbing Lions

Enjoy breakfast before checking out for a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, taking the route through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This area is notable for its population of tree-climbing lions, which often rest in large fig trees during the day. A short game drive will be done in Ishasha, followed by lunch at Ishasha Jungle Lodge. After lunch, continue southward to Bwindi, arriving at Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp later in the day. Settle into your room and enjoy dinner at the lodge.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking and Visit to Batwa Community

After an early breakfast, walk or drive to the Bwindi park headquarters for a briefing on mountain gorilla trekking. Groups will be formed and allocated based on physical ability and gorilla family location. The trek through dense forest terrain may take several hours depending on where the gorillas are found. Once contact is made, you will spend one hour observing their daily life, including feeding, movement, and interactions. Return to the lodge for lunch and rest. Later in the afternoon, visit a Batwa community to learn about the traditions, music, and culture of this forest-dwelling group. Return to the lodge in the evening.

Day 7: Departure

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the nearby airstrip for a scheduled domestic flight back to Entebbe. Upon arrival, you may either check in for your international flight or proceed with onward travel arrangements. This marks the end of your Uganda safari.

Cancellation Policy:
Given that bookings involve accommodations and services arranged in advance, the following cancellation charges apply:

  • Cancellations made 15–30 days before arrival will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations made 7–14 days before arrival will incur a 75% cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations made less than 7 days before arrival or in the event of a no-show will not be eligible for a refund.

You have the option to reschedule your safari at no extra cost. However, any price adjustments resulting from revised hotel rates will be your responsibility.
