Nothing beats looking at the world through your child’s eye.
Alisha had topped her class and I had to come through with my promise. It was a safari to Lake Nakuru and I knew my to-go-to travel agent was on call 24/7. Mohrale travel and tours handled safaris like the pros they are.
It was an early morning for my girl but for her, she would wake up for animals. The Land cruiser was spacious enough for us. We were a good number and it was going to be fun. Most of us slept through the drive. Jackson the driver made sure it was uneventful and the seats were well cushioned to ensure comfort for the passengers.
Lake Nakuru is in Nakuru city. It was declared a Rhino Sanctuary in 1987. It is popularly known for the flamingos. It is a beautiful wildlife haven.
“Mama, look at how beautiful that giraffe is!”
In her eyes you could see the excitement and joy.
“That is a Rothschild giraffe, it was brought from the Western Kenya. It is an endangered species.” Jackson explained.
What other animals are here?” Tina asked.
“There are buffalos, cheetahs, water bucks and lions.” Jackson said.
We stopped by the lake hoping to see more animals and watch the flamingos. We sighted a lot of birds. The park hosts about 450 species of birds and our children hoped to count the whole number but they just got to twelve and then got fascinated by the rhino that was getting a drink.
As we headed to Makalia waterfalls, Jackson the guide pointed to a very large python that was encircling a tree. Made me cringe on sitting under a tree.
Picnicking near the waterfall was really fun. The sounds brought water to life. It rumbled and I could hear the whistles of the wind. I saw my child loving every bit. I was grateful for Mohrale tours and travel for putting this trip together.
“This is one of the viewpoints. It is called the Lionhill. Then there’s Babboon Cliff and Out of Africa. The park also boasts of some hills; Enasoit, Honeymoon and Lion Hill Ridge.”
Jackson was adept and professional. I could listen to him talk because some knowledge can’t be found in the encyclopedia.
The girls were full of adrenaline but guess who passed out on the drive back home.
“Ladies, we are coming back on a grown girls overnight stay in the park. Mohrale are you game?” Tina’s mom asked.
“Anytime,any day.”
Mohrale-let’s travel the world.
