LAKE NAIVASHA WEEKEND GETAWAY

Lake Naivasha weekend getaway

Seeing the world in a client’s eyes always makes it a first for.

It was a boys’ camping experience to Lake Naivasha. They were loud and fun and funny and I couldn’t have it any other way. The music was top notch; our van has an in built sound system.

Got to the camping grounds at midday and as usual our check in was seamless. The boys headed to the restaurant to have lunch.

The orange life vests signalled the beginning of an adventure. We could see hippos grazing lazily on the beach. We could see different kinds of birds and trees dead long ago but they still stood.

The Crescent Island came into view. I knew how excited they were since they knew that the Lion King movie had been filmed on the Island. They started shooting questions at the guide and I knew this was going to be a one of a kind tour. They loved the giraffe, gazed at the antelopes and listened keenly to  the guide.

They were content on going on a nature walk in Naivasha ‘s best kept secret. They loved the peace and the ambience. I could listen to the banter with them over and over again.

Dinner was a whole affair because of the nyama choma. We had a few games before bed.

After breakfast; we moved to the next adventure. I knew that Hell Gate was going to be a big hit with them. The gorges looked really beautiful. The water gouged gorges showed off. A few of them decided to cycle in the park as we went on a game drive. Kim- the adrenalin-junkie decided to go rock climbing at The Fischer’s towers.

We reconvened at Ol Karia Geothermal for them to have a swim at the naturally heated Spa.

“Some kind of peace has to be bought.” Said Tony.

I knew there was going to be a next for this group of guys. Till then:
