10 Days 9 Nights Kenya Wildlife & Beach Safari

Masai Mara is the Home to the Big 5 with big game concentration. It is world-renowned for its exceptional populations of lion, African Leopard, Cheetah, and African Bush Elephant.  Lake Nakuru is Home to Millions of Flamingos and has retained its reputation as an Ornithologist’s delight, with more than 400 species of Birds. Lake Naivasha is the second-largest freshwater lake in Kenya and is home to over 400 bird species. Mombasa’s South Coast is an idyllic seaside destination. The most well-known beach is Diani where you’ll take full advantage of sand and surf partaking the many sports activities like windsurfing, waterskiing, kitesurfing or discovering endemic marine species while snorkeling at Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park. The park is also known as the “Home of Dolphins”.

Day 1: Nairobi

Pick up from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and dropped off at the Ole Sereni Hotel (or at your preferred hotel) where you will be staying on a Bed and Breakfast basis. Depending on what time you will arrive you will have the rest of the Day to explore Nairobi at your own pace.

Day 2: Nairobi-Masai Mara

Depart Nairobi after breakfast to arrive Maasai Mara in time for lunch at Mara Sarova Camp(or your chosen hotel). Proceed for an afternoon game drive at the reserve. The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You may be lucky to see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephants.

Day 3: Explore Masai Mara

From the camp, we explore the Mara region, packed with the elephant, zebra, rhino and all kinds of game throughout the year with the spectacular wildebeest migration from Serengeti occurring mainly in July and August. Being at Maasai Mara is “as if you found yourself in the New York of the natural world according to some authorities”. Indeed you have the best opportunity of seeing the big five.

Day 4: Masai Mara

Today you may enjoy a full Day of Game drives with a picnic lunch in the wild, with superb photographic opportunities to capture the stately black-manned lion, elephant and various plains game. You also have an opportunity to go on a spectacular optional balloon ride across the Maasai Mara. The Balloon Safari begins in the pre-dawn hours. Towards the end of the safari, you rise to a height of 1500 feet for a panoramic view of the twisting Mara River and the savannah below. After an hour or so in the air, your safari finishes with a flourish: a champagne breakfast in the bush, cooked on the balloon’s burners. Please note that this is an optional extra which can be arranged at the time of booking this trip. A full refund will be given if the balloon trip is cancelled due to bad weather.

Day 5: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru

Early morning game drive in Masai Mara Game Reserve. Head back to the lodge for breakfast before continuing our journey in Kenya. Proceed to Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch. Have an afternoon game drive at the park. Lake Nakuru’s claim to fame is anchored on its flamingo’s and the over 400 species of birds found here. From a distance the lake appears ringed in pink. The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Lions, waterbuck, buffalo and baboons are all residents here.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha

Have an early morning game drive at the lake Nakuru National park then head back to the lodge for breakfast. Afterwards you will proceed to Naivasha and head to Hells gate where you will enjoy walking around to the scenic gorges. The park has spectacular scenery, despite its rather alarming name, including the towering cliffs, water gouged gorges and belching plumes of a natural geothermal steam. You will be able to see herds of Buffalos, zebras, giraffe and Thompsons Gazelle. Have a picnic lunch as you head to the Geothermal Olkaria Spa for a warm swim. The Olkaria Geothermal Station is one of the hottest sources of natural steam in the world with an underground water temperature of 304 degrees.

Day 7: Lake Naivasha – Nairobi

Head to Nairobi after breakfast, making our way to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. We arrive at the Airport at around 2 o’clock and catch a flight to Mombasa. On arrival at the Airport, you will be picked and transferred to your Hotel. All Meals and Overnight at the Diani Sea Resort or at your preferred hotel

Day 8: Kisite Mpunguti Island

Have a full Day excursion at Kisite Mpunguti and Wasini Island. The park is situated on the Southern Coast of Kenya. It has magnificient coral reefs and colorful marine park. The park is popularly known as the ‘Home of Dolphins’. Here you will have the opportunity to discover endemic Marine species while snorkeling or Scuba diving at the Marine park. Sea food is served as lunch. We later on head to the Hotel to freshen up and relax at the beach as we enjoy the sunset view.

Dinner and Overnight at the Diani Sea Resort or your preferred hotel.

Day 9: Mombasa

Have an early morning run at the shores of the beach. Head back to the resort to freshen up and have breakfast. Have a full Day of doing water sports activities; skimming across the surface of the Indian Ocean while Windsurfing, kitesurfing, or waterskiing.

Day 10: Nairobi

Breakfast in the morning as you prepare to check out of the hotel. Transfers to Miritini SGR Terminus to catch a train back to Nairobi. On arrival, you will be dropped off at your Hotel.
