Aberdares has spectacular waterfalls and with a great view from the Ark one is able to see the Elephants, Buffalos among others. Samburu National Reserve is Home to Kamunyak, a lioness famous for adopting oryx calves. The Reserve is a unique wildlife conservation haven famous for an abundance of rare species of animals such as the Grevy Zebra and the Biesa Oryx. Lake Nakuru National Park is Home to millions of Flamingos, Rhino sanctuary as well as ornithological paradise. Lake Naivasha is the second largest fresh water lake in Kenya and is Home to over 400 bird species. The Masai Mara Game Reserve is Home to the Big 5 with big game concentration. It is one of the most famous and important wildlife conservation and wilderness areas in Africa, World renowned for its exceptional populations of lion.

DAY 1: Nairobi

Pick up from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and dropped off at the Ole Sereni Hotel where you will be staying on a Bed and Breakfast basis. Depending on what time you will arrive you will have the rest of the day to explore Nairobi at your own pace.

DAY 2: Nairobi – Aberdares National Park

Depart from Nairobi after breakfast and head to Aberdares National Park. Arrive in time for lunch and rest at the lodge. You will get to enjoy a close range view at the Ark Lodge where you will be able to see the Elephants, Buffalos and other animals.

DAY 3: Explore Aberdares National Park

Depart after breakfast and drive to Aberdares National Park, situated in the shadow of Mt Kenya, Kenya’s highest mountain. Spend the whole day at the park. Aberdares National Park has a diverse topography that includes icy rivers, spectacular waterfalls and rain forests. You are sure to see herds of elephants, buffalos and some other animals at the floodlit waterholes of The Ark. Birdlife is also plentiful, including the monkey eating crowned eagle. The park is home to over 290 species of birds.

DAY 4: Aberdares – Samburu Game Reserve

Depart after breakfast and take a roadtrip to Kenya’s rugged north-eastern region, home of the colorful Samburu tribe. The Reserve is set in a beautiful dry desert-like landscape, large mammals such as elephants are seen. Rugged and remote, this wildlife reserve provides some of the best and most colorful game viewing in the country. Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch followed by time to relax.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive returning to the Samburu Serena Lodge at sunset.

DAY 5: Explore Samburu Game Reserve

Enjoy early morning and afternoon game drives exploring this arid wilderness while photographing its main inhabitants. The great thing about Samburu is that it is located in a semi desert region of Kenya and therefore not overcrowded with tourists, so you are always assured of fantastic game viewing. The Reserve is a unique wildlife conservation haven famous for an abundance of rare species of animals such as the Grey Zebra and the Beisa Oryx. It is also Home to a population of close to 900 Elephants.

DAY 6: Samburu – Lake Nakuru National Park

Depart to Lake Nakuru after breakfast to arrive in time for lunch at the Camp, and in the afternoon have a game drive at Park. From a distance the lake appears ringed in pink because of the massive number of flamingos. The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species-particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. You will be able to also spot Lions, Waterbuck, Buffalo and baboons as they are all residents here. The Lake has retained its reputation as an Ornithologist’s delight with more than 400 species of Birds.

DAY 7: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha

Depart to the Lake Nakuru National Park for a morning game drive after breakfast. Get to see the wildlife that we had previously missed seeing. Head to Lake Naivasha afterwards to arrive in time for lunch. Have an afternoon leisure (optional boatrides or walk at Hell’s Gate National Park).

DAY 8: Explore Hell’s Gate/Geothermal Spa

Depart after breakfast to the Hell’s Gate National park where you will get to see the scenic gorges. You can as well do biking in the park. Hell’s Gate is the only park where you can enjoy biking within the park. The park has spectacular scenery, despite its rather alarming name, including the towering cliffs, water gouged gorges and belching plumes of a natural geothermal steam. You will be able to see herds of Buffalos, zebras, giraffe and Thompsons Gazelle. Have a picnic lunch as you head to the Geothermal Olkaria Spa for a warm swim. The Olkaria Geothermal Station is one of the hottest sources of natural steam in the world with an underground water temperature of 304oC.

DAY 9: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara Reserve

Breakfast at Lake Naivasha and depart for Masai Mara arriving in time for lunch. Have an afternoon game drive at the park. The Reserve is one of the most famous and important wildlife conservation and wilderness areas in Africa, world renowned for its exceptional populations of lion, African Leopard, Cheetah and African Bush Elephant, these are some of the wildlife you will get to see among others.

DAY 10: Explore Masai Mara

From the Lodge, we explore the Mara region, packed with the Elephant, Zebra, Rhino and all kinds of game throughout the year with the spectacular wildebeest migration from Serengeti occurring mainly in July and August. Being at Masai Mara is “as if you found yourself in the New York of the natural world according to some authorities”. Indeed you have the best opportunity of seeing all the big five.

DAY 11: Masai Mara – Nairobi

Depart after breakfast and drive through the reserve viewing game as you proceed to the main Narok Road. Buy Souvenirs or have a cup of tea at Narok. Drive to Nairobi Kenya’s colorful capital city. On arrival you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Dinner and Overnight stay at the Ole Sereni Hotel.

DAY 12: Departure

Wake up in the morning and have breakfast as you prepare to check out of the Hotel. Nairobi City Tour can be arranged upon request.

Depart and head to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch a flight.
