This safari seeks to explore the hidden treasure in the western side of Kenya, which will give you an opportunity to experience Africa beyond the tourist brochures. Lake Victoria is one of the largest freshwater bodies in Kenya. Victoria sands lodge is a Lakefront hotel located in Mbita, Homabay county. Takawiri Island is a unique and private island with sandy beaches which brings out the “coastal” feel at the lakeside. The Lakeside sunsets here are magical: Hard to miss.
Day 1: Nairobi – Victoria Sands
Pick up from residential areas. Morning Brief, then depart to the Jomo Kenyatta international airport to catch a flight to Eldoret.
Arrive at Eldoret in time and proceed with the safari using Eldoret – Nandi Hills – Homabay
route. The journey is roughly 4hrs from Eldoret town.
Nandi hills provide a stunning view of the rift valley escarpments and the meandering road.
Stopover at Simbi Nyaima, a lake that was formed through volcanic eruptions and has a mythical aspect.
You will be lucky to see the beautiful pink girls (flamingoes) in this lake.
Stop over for lunch in Homabay (self-sponsored) before proceeding to Victoria Sands Lodge.
Check-in at the hotel at 3:30 pm. Freshen up and enjoy the beautiful breeze from the Lake. Swimming.
Dinner is served. Overnight bonfire as you proceed to sleep in your own leisure time.
Day 2: Takawiri Island/ Rusinga Island
Morning breakfast. Depart for Takawiri Island via boat which is roughly 1 hour ride from Victoria Sands Lodge.

Return for lunch which is served in Rusinga Island Lodge. Sit relax as you watch the Rusinga Island Lodge
Sunsets. (refreshments are self-sponsored).
Return to Victoria sands lodge later in the evening for dinner.
Sleep at your own leisure time.
Day 3: Departure to Nairobi
This is where your tour with us draws to a close. As we go our separate ways, we’ve no doubt that you leave us with new friends and with so many wonderful experiences that will live long in your memory. We also feel sure that you will live long in your memory. We also feel unsure that you’ll return to travel with us once again in the not-too-distant future.
